PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intercom system capable of notifying an event occurring place. SOLUTION: The intercom system includes a master unit 1, a plurality of sub master units 2 connected to the master unit 1, and a plurality of alarms 3 to output reporting sound and transmitting detection signals to the master unit when detecting a fire. The master unit 1 and the sub master units 2 include a speech communication part 10 having a microphone 10a and a speaker 10b in common, the master unit 1 includes a master unit side control part 18A for preparing volume data indicating the size of the input sound of its own microphone 10a when receiving detection signals and outputting volume data request signals to the respective sub mater units 2, and the sub master unit 2 includes a sub master unit side control part 18B for transmitting the volume data indicating the size of the input sound of its own microphone 10a to the master unit 1 when receiving the volume data request signals. The master unit side control part 18A estimates the installation place of the master unit 1 or the sub master unit 2 corresponding to the volume data of the maximum volume as the occurring place of a fire, and makes a reporting part 17 perform reporting corresponding to the estimated results.
