PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly chuck a disk-shaped recording medium, and to make a disk drive apparatus thinner. SOLUTION: The disk drive apparatus includes a disk drive unit 16 having a disk table 24, a spindle motor 23, an optical pickup 18 and a pickup base 17 for supporting the optical pickup, and being made movable to the direction of a substantially center shaft of the disk table; a base plane portion 10 positioned to face the disk drive unit; and cam sliders 12, 14 having cam grooves 13, 15, 15, and by being moved to a predetermined direction, moving the disk drive unit to the substantially center shaft direction of the disk table. The disk drive unit further includes a motor unit 19 having a spindle motor and a disk table, and being positioned to face the base plane portion. The disk drive unit includes cam pins 20, 21, 21 slidably engaged to the cam grooves of the cam sliders. On one position of the base plane portion and the motor unit mutually facing each other, a magnet 25 for attraction is disposed, while on the other position, a magnetic material 22A to be attracted to the magnet for attraction is disposed.
