PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device that heats a fixing rotation body by means of a heater lamp, passes a recording medium with a toner image thereon through a nip between the fixing rotation body and a pressure rotation body, thereby fixing the toner image to the recording medium, the fixing device being able to alter, according to the temperature of the fixing rotation body, the distribution of heat used for heating the fixing rotation body. SOLUTION: The fixing device 8 includes: a U-shaped cross-sectional heat reflecting member 83 that extends along a heater lamp H and between the heater lamp H and the internal face of the fixing rotation body 81 such that an opening 830 faces the heater lamp H; and a driving device 84 that drives at least the heater lamp H or heat reflecting member 83. The driving device 84 drives at least the heater lamp H or heat reflecting member 83 so that when the temperature of the fixing rotation body decreases, the degree of entrance of the heater lamp H into the heat reflecting member 83 decreases and when the temperature of the fixing rotation body increases, the degree of entrance of the heater lamp H into the heat reflecting member 83 increases.
