摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the acceleration characteristic and behavioral stability of a vehicle at the time of controlling an accelerated running over a cross-over surface. SOLUTION: A vehicle running control includes: a target braking force setting means (an electronic control device 1) for use in setting a target braking force for restricting a slipping of a driving wheel of which braking is to be controlled when a vehicle is running in an accelerated state on a cross-over surface and also when the driving wheel (for example, the left side rear wheel W<SB>RL</SB>) on the surface with a low coefficient side of friction slips, lateral force sensors 42<SB>FL</SB>, 42<SB>FR</SB>, 42<SB>RL</SB>, 42<SB>RR</SB>for detecting lateral forces of the wheels; a braking force incremental gradient or braking force decremental gradient setting means (the electronic control device 1) for setting a braking force incremental gradient or braking force decremental gradient in which a braking force for the driving wheel to be controlled for its braking reaches up to a target braking force during an acceleration running at a cross-over surface to a gradual gradient as the lateral force is larger; and a braking control means (the electronic control means 1) for controlling a braking force for the driving wheel to be controlled and kept under its slipped state in reference to a target braking force during the acceleration running at the cross-over surface and either a braking force incremental gradient or a braking force decremental gradient during the acceleration running at the cross-over surface.
