<p>A household cooking oven comprises a door (4) and a muffle (8) having a plurality of muffle walls (9-13) which delimit a cooking chamber (14). The oven has light emitting means (LS1, LS2, LS3) for lighting the cooking chamber (14), mounted outside the cooking chamber (14). According to the invention, at least one of the muffle walls (9-13) is made, or mainly made, of a transparent or translucent material adapted to let through visible electromagnetic radiation generated by the light emitting means (LS1, LS2, LS3).
