The fixing device (1) has a region for mounting on a barrel (2) of a rifle (3) and another region for fixation at a bar element (8) or the barrel depending on a position of the device. The device is designed as a hook-like element i.e. curved wire element, which is selectively transferable from a non-activated position into an activated position. The element is tiltable around a pivotal point. A fixing nut designed as a knurled screw cooperates with the former region and includes a knurl.
