<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ammonia gas sensor which is enhanced in the detection precision of ammonia by reducing NO<SB>2</SB>coexisting, along with ammonia prior to NO<SB>2</SB>reaching an electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The ammonia gas sensor is equipped with: a sensor element part 10A capable of detecting the concentration of ammonia in a gas to be measured; and a protector 50A having a collection part 60A which covers the sensor element part 10A, collects a particulate substance containing a C element in the gas to be measured, and makes NO<SB>2</SB>react with the particulate substance contained in the gas to be measured with each other, to make the gas to be measured reduced in the content of NO<SB>2</SB>pass through.
