PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ethylene copolymer excellent in moldability and mechanical strength and a thermoplastic resin composition containing the copolymer, and a molded product, a film, and a laminate film containing the film, which are formed from them. SOLUTION: The ethylene copolymer is a copolymer of ethylene with 4-10Cα-olefin which satisfies requirements (I)-(VI): (I) MFR (190°C, 2.16 kg load): 0.1-100 g/10 min, (II) density: 875-936 kg/m<SP>3</SP>, (III) the ratio of melt tension to shear viscosity: 2.50×10<SP>-4</SP>-9.00×10<SP>-4</SP>, (IV) the sum of the numbers of methyl branches and ethyl branches: 1.8 or less, (V) the relationship between zero shear viscosity [η<SB>0</SB>(P), 200°C] and weight-average molecular weight (Mw) measured by the GPC-viscosity detector method: 0.01×10<SP>-13</SP>×Mw<SP>3.4</SP>≤ηo≤4.50×10<SP>-13</SP>×Mw<SP>3.4</SP>, and (VI) the molecular weight at the maximum weight fraction on its molecular weight distribution curve by a GPC measurement: 1.0×10<SP>4.20</SP>-1.0×10<SP>4.50</SP>.
