<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead acid storage battery in which high capacity battery design in the same capacity volume is obtained by securing a filling space of an active material, and the strength of an electrode plate is improved in the case that the thickness of the substrate is made thin, and the finish of formation is excellent with a large initial discharge capacity. <P>SOLUTION: The lead acid storage battery has an electrode plate group in which a negative electrode plate is laminated through a separator on a positive electrode plate in which positive electrode active material paste is filled in a substrate having lead as a main component. The lead acid storage battery is manufactured by making the grid volume of the substrate of the whole of the positive electrode plate group of the electrode group as 0.55-0.80 cc/Ah, and after filling the positive electrode active material paste in the substrate, in a maturation and drying process, 4-basic lead sulfate is produced at 75-95 mass% and formation is carried out. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
