PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical material, an optical waveguide, an optical component and an optoelectric hybrid substrate, solving problems of incompleteness in a core form caused by a slow curing rate in ionic polymerization of an epoxy resin for an optical waveguide, and having solder heat resistance. SOLUTION: The optical material includes a mixture that contains a polymerizable epoxy compound expressed by formula (I) by 10 mass% to 90 mass% in a constituting component and further contains a photopolymerization initiator by 0.05 to 5 phr.
