PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information viewing system for resuming interrupted viewing of contents on another playback device with a little time loss when viewing of the contents is interrupted. SOLUTION: An information viewing system includes a first playback device 21 for viewing contents stored on a disk 1 loaded therein, and a second playback device 22. According to interruption of viewing of contents, the first playback device 21 transmits to the second playback device 22 interruption time point information containing content specification information specifying the contents that has been viewed when interrupted, and interruption position information when the playback is interrupted. In a case where a storage medium with the contents indicated by the content specification information stored thereon is loaded, the second playback device 22 starts playing back the contents from the position indicated by the interruption position information.
