PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of preventing a temperature rise in a refrigeration chamber and an increase in electric power consumption, when a gutter heater arranged in the refrigeration chamber is heated more than necessary. SOLUTION: This refrigerator 10 cools the refrigeration chamber 15 by natural convection of cold air cooled by a refrigeration cooler 17. The direct cooling type refrigerator 10 cools a freezing chamber 16 by natural convection of cold air cooled by a freezing cooler 18, and is characterized by performing gutter heater current-carrying control for carrying an electric current to the gutter heater 23a when the temperature of the refrigeration cooler 17 detected by a refrigeration cooler temperature sensor 20 is the predetermined temperature or less and stopping current-carrying of he gutter heater 23a when the temperature in the refrigeration chamber 15 detected by a storage inside temperature sensor 19 is the predetermined temperature or more.
