PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a paper feeding device not performing starting of operation without noticing the state in which paper feed error detection function of a paper feeding part is OFF. SOLUTION: The paper feeding device 1 has a paper feeding error detection means 3 for detecting whether an error is generated in paper feeding action of the paper feeding part 2 for paying-out/feeding the paper sheet one by one, and has a paper feeding error detection function ON-OFF setting means for setting ON-OFF of detection function of the paper feeding error detection means 3. A paper feeding error detection function ON-OFF display part 7 is displayed in an operation starting stand-by state display part 6 always automatically displayed in a state in which operation of the device is started if a start button of the paper feeding device is pushed.
