PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator which cannot be opened freely by a person with dementia, but easily used by the other person. SOLUTION: This refrigerator 11 comprising a door 13 and drawers 14, 14 capable of opening the inside further comprises electric locks 31 for electrically locking and unlocking the door 13 and the drawers 14, 14, a biometric authentication device comprising a fingerprint reader 42 for individual identification, and a control portion for discriminating an admittee on the basis of the biometric information taken by the biometric authentication device, so that the electric lock 31 is unlocked to the admittee, and the electric lock 31 is not unlocked to a non-admittee, or the electric lock 31 is not locked to the admittee, and the electric lock 31 is locked to the non-admittee.
