PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat treatment apparatus for an annular member which can easily respond to various sizes of annular members and can heat-treat them while sufficiently suppressing the deformation. SOLUTION: A setting die 10 of the heat treatment apparatus for housing a steel annular member 1 comprises a disk-shaped or annular central member 12 and a plurality of radial members 14 arranged at generally equal intervals in the peripheral direction along a peripheral surface 12a of the central member 12. The radial member 14 comprises a generally rectangular planar part 14a on which the annular member 1 is placed and a wall 14b which is perpendicularly installed from one end of the planar part 14a and is in contact with the peripheral surface of the annular member 1, the radial member having a generally L-shape. The radial members 14 are radially arranged around the peripheral surface 12a of the central member 12 so that the other end of the planar part 14a is in contact with the peripheral surface 12a of the central member 12 and the wall 14b is located on the outside in the radial direction.
