PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a culture apparatus for excellently controlling an algae density in culture tanks. SOLUTION: The apparatus for culturing algae in a culture solution is equipped with: culture tanks piled up in the vertical direction in a plurality of steps, a circulation passage for communication between the culture tanks; a culture solution tank for supplying a culture solution to the culture tank of the highest step, a flow-out passage connected to the culture tank of the lowest step; an algae density measurement part for measuring an algae density in the culture solution; and control part for controlling a supply amount of the culture solution from the culture solution tank based on the algae density measured by the algae density measurement part.
