Provided are a liposome for delivery to the posterior segment of the eye, characterized in that it contains (A) a phospholipid (B) a charged substance and/or (C) a membrane-reinforcing substance as constituents, has stiffness such that it has cell membrane permeability, and has an average particle diameter of 1 µm or less; and a pharmaceutical composition for a disease in the posterior segment of the eye prepared by encapsulating a drug in the liposome. The liposome is delivered to the posterior segment of the eye even by instillation and does not show cytotoxicity, and the pharmaceutical composition for a disease in the posterior segment of the eye uses the liposome.
