PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glittering aqueous ink composition by which a handwriting having both stronger glittering appearance and steric feeling and fixability can be obtained as compared with a conventional aqueous ink composition using a glittering pigment. SOLUTION: In the glittering aqueous ink composition for a ballpoint pen containing metal flake powder, a water-soluble thickening resin, a water-soluble organic solvent and water as indispensable components, the metal flake powder is an aluminum flake powder, the particle size of the metal flake powder is in the range of 500 to 50 mesh and the metal flake powder is contained in the range of 0.01 to 20.0 wt.% in the total ink composition.
