PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition useful for preventing and treating diabetes or the like. SOLUTION: The new pharmaceutical composition contains, as the active ingredient, an indole-N-glucoside derivative represented by formula (I) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>is F or Cl; and R<SP>2</SP>is H or F) or a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof. This pharmaceutical composition is useful for preventing and treating diabetes, diabetic complications, obesity, or the like because the active ingredient therein has the activity of inhibiting sodium-dependent glucose transport carrier(SGLT) and corrects high blood glucose levels.
