PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that it has been impossible to perform accurate detection in the case that it is present in a rope groove since only representative values of some parts of the rope groove are measured without measuring the overall circumference of the rope groove in the measurement of the amount of wear of rope grooves. SOLUTION: An apparatus for measuring the shapes of rope grooves is provided with a position sensor 4 for measuring the position of a specific section of a rope groove 21; an axial-direction moving means 6 for moving the position sensor along the direction of the center axis of a grooved pulley 2; a rotation angle detection means 9 for detecting the rotation angle of the grooved pulley; and a groove shape computation means 10 for computing the cross-sectional shape of the rope groove on the basis of detection values (position data) of the position sensor, the amount of drive (drive data) of the axial-direction moving means, and detection values (rotation angle data) of the rotation angle detection means.
