PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire-resistant additive which does not produce slime even when warm water is attached thereto and which is obtained by surface-treating a compound comprising a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound and phosphoric acid with a hydrophobic compound. SOLUTION: The fire-resistant additive is produced by surface-treating the compound comprising the heterocyclic compound containing a nitrogen atom and phosphoric acid with one or more hydrophobic compounds each comprising an organic silicon compound.
