PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footstep for a passenger conveyer, easily checking a degree of ware of a coating film before bare metal is exposed. SOLUTION: In the footstep for the passenger conveyor, a plurality of footsteps each having a step surface with projections and recesses extended in a traveling direction are endlessly connected with each other, and the plurality of footsteps are circulated and moved from one doorway to the other doorway. The foot step comprises: a footstep body having a step surface with projections and recesses; and a coating layer 2b coating at least top parts 22b of projection parts 22a of the step surface of the footstep body. The coating layer 2b includes: a first coating layer 37 laminated on at least top parts 22b of the projection parts 22a; and second coating layer 36 laminated on at least first coating layer 37.
