Disclosed is a binder composition for electrodes of nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries, which can suppress thickening of an electrode slurry even though the binder composition contains an antioxidant. The binder composition enables formation of an electrode slurry which does not have an antioxidant adhere to the interiors of fine pores of an electrode active material after coating and drying of the slurry. The binder composition for electrodes of nonaqueous electrolyte secondary batteries contains a binder and an emulsified antioxidant. The binder is preferably an aqueous binder containing a diene polymer, and the antioxidant is preferably a polymer phenol compound.
