<p>A mat material that while maintaining its fit to contact objects, such as a human body, realizes enhancing of shape retention capability and inhibiting of extreme deformation, thereby ensuring high usability. A core member (2) of continuous pore structure is formed of a urethane resin. In this core member (2), all internal voids (4) are filled with a water base coagulable gel (5) at a filling ratio of 80 to 100%. Further, the coagulable gel (5) is caused to leak onto the surface of the core member (2) and coagulated to thereby form a gel coating layer (6). The thickness of the gel coating layer (6) is in the range of 0.5 to 10 mm. The core member (2) is accommodated in an accommodation space (37) inside a capsule member (35).</p> |
