PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor having excellent sensitivity, for generating a magnetic field efficiently in a wide range to a measuring object such as a rotator, for example, a blade of a turbocharger. SOLUTION: This sensor for detecting existence of an object in a detection domain includes: a semicircular plate-shaped or discoid support 2 having a surface layer comprising an electrically insulating material; and a conductor (coil or the like) 3 formed along the surface of the support, for exciting the object R comprising a nonmagnetic conductor.
