PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a boom which is of a simple structure and yet to allow a work vessel to quickly pass through. SOLUTION: A series of at least two or more floats are made into sink-float floats 6, each of which has a buoyancy chamber 6b disposed therein. At both lateral ends of the buoyancy chamber 6b, communication holes 6c and 6d communicating with the outside are formed in such a way that one of the communication holes 6c and 6d is located on the upper end while the other of the same is located on the lower end. The sink-float floats 6 are thus arranged so that adjacent communication holes 6c and 6d are reverse to each other in vertical position. Adjacent communication holes 6c and 6d are connected to each other via a pipe 11. Among the series of sink-float floats 6, a sink-float float 6 located at an end of the series and having the lower end communication hole 6d connected to adjacent upper end communication hole 6c via the pipe 11 supplies and sucks air through the upper end communication hole 6c of the sink-float float 6.
