PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid an excessive temperature rise of the foaming liquid in a liquid discharge head for discharging discharge liquid by separating the discharge liquid and the foaming liquid by means of a movable separation film, and by heating the foaming liquid to foam thereby displacing the movable separation film. SOLUTION: A liquid discharge head is divided into a first channel CH1 and a second channel CH2 through a movable separation film 7. A plurality of foaming chambers 10 are formed while being divided in the second channel CH2 in correspondence with a plurality of nozzles 9, and the foaming chambers 10 are interconnected through a first interconnection portion 10a and a second interconnection portion 10b. In at least one of the first and second interconnection portions 10a and 10b, the amount of foaming liquid flowing out from the foaming chamber 10 into the second channel CH2 is different from the amount of foaming liquid flowing from the second channel CH2 into the foaming chamber 10 in the foam reduction process.
