PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recorder and a recording method capable of surely fixing a recording material without incurring quality deterioration of the material and in a short time. SOLUTION: The recorder includes: a transporting mechanism which transports a resin film 12 from the upstream side to the downstream; a recording head 31 which carries out recording by sticking ink to a recording processing region of the resin film 12 in a mid position of the transporting route of the resin film 12; a heating/drying device 44 which is arranged in a downstream position in the transporting route from the recording head 31 and which heats the ink to fix on the resin film 12; and a controller which controls at least one of the transporting mechanism and the heating/drying device 44. The controller controls heating and temperature such that effect on quality deterioration is suppressed in a non-recording processing region where no ink is struck in the resin film 12 and that heating temperature is higher on the recording processing region of the resin film 12 than on the non-recording processing region of the same.
