A message management method, for use when a depositor (X) wishes to send a message (M) to an addressee (Y), includes a step of the depositor (X) sending a call invitation (INV1) to a call router (10) to set up a call to the addressee (Y), a step of the router (10) identifying a depositary peer in a peer-to-peer network (1) that is available and has sufficient resources (HD) for storing the message (M), and a step of setting up a communication stream (FC) between the depositor (X) and the depositary (PR) for storing the message in the resources (HD) of the depositary peer.
