<p>Provided is a burner for manufacturing porous glass base material that has small-diameter gas jet ports with which a uniform linear velocity is obtained at each gas jet port nozzle, reaction is uniform, a stable flame is obtained, and deposition efficiency is improved. The burner for manufacturing porous glass base material of this invention is characterized by the fact that the inside diameters of the tubes forming the gas jet ports positioned to the inside in the radial direction of the gas jet port, where the above small-diameter gas jet port nozzles are arranged, are reduced from a position on the burner base side of the above position of prescribed length L toward the burner tip, and the inside diameters of the tubes forming the gas jet port, where the above small-diameter gas jet port nozzles are arranged, and the gas jet ports positioned to the outside in the radial direction of said gas jet port are reduced from a position on the burner tip side of the above position of prescribed length L towards the burner tip.</p> |
