<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of quantitatively acquiring a shopper's degree of interest in individual merchandise, its distribution, changes with time, etc. by image processing. <P>SOLUTION: The device has: an image processor for tracking the movement of an individual on a picked-up image by an image processing technology and measuring the time of staying in an area set as within the limit of a close range of merchandise; a device for discriminating individual shoppers' degrees of interest in merchandise in several stages; and a data processor for processing data according to the degrees of interest registered in a device for storing data according to the degrees of interest. The image processor comprises a person recognizing means for recognizing the approximate contour of a person's image by a normal vector and tracking it with time. A criterion in the interest degree discriminating device has a speed reference compared with an instantaneous moving speed, and only when the speed reference is set to be not faster than a slow moving speed close to a stop state and the instantaneous moving speed corresponds to this speed reference, the degree of interest is discriminated by the long/short state of the staying time. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
