<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light diffusion film having a wide diffusion range of light emitted forward, since the conventional light diffusion film includes a narrow diffusion range of light emitted forward. <P>SOLUTION: The light diffusion film provided with a plurality of columnar fibers arranged in substantially parallel and an optical isotropic transparent resin coupling the fibers, uses (1) the fiber 21 in which a refractive index difference with that of the transparent resin 22 is large, and (2) the fiber 21 includes two kinds of birefringence regions 21A, 21B, one of which is contained in the other.
