PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide band composite optical fiber transmission line with a low transmission loss. SOLUTION: In the composite optical fiber transmission line, aΔhigh fiber 1 having a high specific refractive index difference between a core and a clad is connected to aΔlow fiber 2 having a low specific refractive index difference. The combination of theΔhigh fiber 1 and theΔlow fiber 2 satisfies the relation of an expression (1): (In the expression (1),ΔHigh denotes specific refractive index difference ofΔhigh fiber;ΔLow denotes specific refractive index difference ofΔlow fiber; and n<SB>core</SB>denotes refractive index of a core.
