PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a distortion of an optical box due to a temperature rise of a polygon motor, by simple constitution, in an optical scanner. SOLUTION: This optical scanner E includes: a light source 1 for emitting a light beam; a deflector 2A provided with a deflecting element 2 for deflecting the light beam by rotation and the motor M for driving the deflecting element 2; incident side optical systems 11, 12 for imaging the light beam emitted from the light source 1 on the deflecting element 2; exit side optical systems 3, 4, 5 for imaging the light beam deflected and scanned by the deflecting element 2 on a face 51a to be scanned; and the optical box 6 for storing the light source, the deflector, the incident side optical systems, and the exit side optical systems. In the optical scanner E, on the bottom of the optical box 6, a hole part 6g is provided in the vicinity of a bearing holding part 6e arranged in an optical box bottom plate 6d to hold a bearing part 2e of the motor M.
