PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a display panel, which enables efficient manufacturing at low manufacturing costs without mixing air bubbles or impurities in a display medium enclosed within the display panel. SOLUTION: The method includes: a step of filling up a display medium 8 in a region surrounded by a substrate surface and an outer frame member until the liquid level arrives above the level of the outer frame member 14; a step of applying an adhesive 30 to the adhesion surface provided outside the outer frame member with a predetermined interval; a step of placing a second substrate 6 on the upper surface of the outer frame member and the adhesion surface onto which the adhesive is applied; and a step of curing the adhesive to form the display panel filled with the display medium in the region surrounded by the outer frame member. When the second substrate is placed on the upper surface 1 of the outer frame member and the adhesion surface, the display medium and adhesive pushed out from the filled region are filled in a recessed part 18 provided between the outer frame member and the adhesion surface.
