PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission belt allowing easy and positive assembling of an element with a ring and an assembling method of the transmission belt. SOLUTION: In the transmission belt V, a concave part 7 is formed for storing band-like rings R aligned in parallel in a plurality of rows in the width direction, the rings R are engaged on an opening end side of right and left inner wall faces 5a, 6a in the concave part 7, a plurality of plate-like elements E having right and left fall-out prevention parts 8, 9 formed thereon for preventing falling out are annularly arranged, and the rings R are fitted and assembled on the inner peripheral side of both the fall out prevention parts 8, 9 in the row of the elements E. A retaining ring 15 formed of an annular elastic body is mounted further on the outer peripheral side than outermost peripheral faces 13a, 14a of the rings R for abutting on a portion of the elements E that relatively rotate and restricting relative rotation of the elements E when adjacent elements E relatively rotate within each other's opposing faces in the rows of the elements E arranged annularly.
