PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an attention calling device for a passenger conveyor capable of effectively guiding a passenger not grasping a moving handrail so as to grasp the moving handrail by certainly detecting whether or not the passenger on a step grasps the moving handrail. SOLUTION: The attention calling device for the passenger conveyor is provided with the step of the passenger conveyor; the moving handrail 4 moved in synchronization with the step; a person detection sensor 5 for detecting existence of the passenger on the step; a detection sensor 7 for detecting whether or not the passenger grasps the movement handrail 4; and an informing means for informing the passenger on the step of predetermined information. Further, when it is detected by the person detection sensor 5 that the passenger on the step does not grasp the moving handrail 4 based on the respective detection results of the person detection sensor 5 and the detection sensor 7, the attention calling is performed so as to grasp the movement handrail 4 using the informing means.
