<p>A coin discrimination and counting device capable of, when the number of coins is low, discriminating and counting the coins at increased speed. The device has an auxiliary hopper (4) for receiving coins and discharging them from a first discharge opening, a rotation disc device having a rotation disc that receives the coins discharged from the first discharge opening and conveys them in a centrifugal direction by rotational force and also having a coin discharge opening for discharging one by one the coins conveyed in the centrifugal direction, a conveyance device for conveying one by one the coins discharged from the coin discharge opening, the conveyance device conveying the coins to a coin exit through a conveyance path, denomination discrimination means placed in the middle of the conveyance path and discriminating the denomination of each coin, false coin detection means placed in the middle of the conveyance path and detecting a false coin, a removal device for removing into an removal opening at least either a false coin detected by the false coin detection means or a different denomination coin discriminated by the denomination discrimination means as a coin of a denomination different from specified denominations previously set by the denomination discrimination means, and coin counting means placed in the middle of the conveyance path and counting coins.</p> |
