<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new tyrosinase inhibition activator, and to provide a skin-lightening composition containing the inhibitor. <P>SOLUTION: Provided are the tyrosinase inhibitor containing echinacoside represented by chemical formula (1) (wherein, R<SB>1</SB>is H; R<SB>2</SB>is α-L-rhamnopyranose; R<SB>3</SB>is trans-caffeoyl; R<SB>4</SB>is β-D-glucopyranose; R<SB>5</SB>is OH) as an active ingredient, and the bleaching composition containing the inhibitor. The echinacoside can be obtained by extracting a Cistanche family plant.
