PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane electrode composite having improved durability by using a simple method of preventing the degradation of durability resulting from reaction between hydrogen cross-leaking from an anode to a cathode and oxygen (air) cross-leaking from the cathode at both the electrodes, while preventing the breakage of a membrane resulting from exothermic reaction (combustion) of cross-leaking gases on a catalyst.
SOLUTION: The membrane electrode composite for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell includes the anode and the cathode arranged with at least a polymer electrolyte membrane therebetween. The anode and the cathode each contain a catalyst layer, a conductive layer, and a collector layer in sequence from the polymer electrolyte membrane. At least one of the collector layer and the conductive layer covers the catalyst layer and contacts the polymer electrolyte membrane.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
