PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas pressure variation detector capable of easily detecting gas generation in a closed container by the contact of a liquid and a material that is to be reacted with the liquid to generate a gas. SOLUTION: The gas pressure variation detector detects gas generation in a closed container containing a liquid and a material that is to be reacted with the liquid to generate a gas, based on a pressure variation of a gas layer in the upper portion of the closed container. The gas pressure variation detector is a floating/sinking body storing a gas inside, which floats and sinks in the liquid. The floating/sinking body has a volume that varies due to change in a volume of the inside gas corresponding to the pressure variation of the gas layer. The specific gravity of the floating/sinking body at the atmospheric pressure is made to be such specific gravity that the top of the floating/sinking body can be located around the surface of the liquid.
