PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for internal combustion engine capable of reducing a change quantity of the torque to be generated in an engine when stopping supply of secondary air and/or when starting supply of secondary air. SOLUTION: This control device comprises a secondary air supply means (secondary air supply system 50) for advancing warm-up of a catalyst 43 by burning gas, which is discharged from a combustion chamber 21 of an engine 10, inside of an exhaust passage by supplying air as secondary air to an exhaust port 23 and for stopping supply of secondary air when the secondary air supply condition is not satisfied. For example, in a stop of supply of the secondary air, in which condition is being changed from a condition wherein secondary air is supplied to a condition wherein supply of the secondary air is stopped, the control device controls the engine control quantity (ignition time or the like) so as to reduce width of a change of the torque to be generated in the engine 10 by a change of burning condition of air-fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber 21 to be caused by switching the secondary air supply condition.
