PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel for fishing, in which a switch mechanism for switching a drag mechanism for giving rotation resistance to a spool from an operation state to a non-operation state is disposed and which can exhibit a sufficient drag force without enlarging the whole body of the reel. SOLUTION: The spinning reel for the fishing includes the spool 3 set to a spool shaft 3a to wind a line, a rotor 2 which can be rotated by the winding operation of a handle to wind a line on the spool 3, and the switch mechanism 30 which is disposed between the spool 3 and the spool shaft 3a and switches the spool into a drag-operating state or a free state, is disposed the sub-drag knob 25A of a sub-drag mechanism 25 for adjusting the rotation resistance force of the spool free state in the front end portion of the spool shaft 3a, and the main drag knob 20A of a main drag mechanism 20 for adjusting the drag force of the drag operation state on the radial direction outside of the sub-drag knob.
