<p>A continuous process for producing (RO2)P(S)-Cl (where R = lower alkyl) from RONa and P(S)Cl3, which comprises continuously supplying to a system contg. P(S)Cl3 (pref. in an active solvent e.g. toluene or benzene), 2.0 to 2.3 moles (per mole of P(S)Cl3) of NaOR in alcohol soln. along the direction of the stream in divisional manner in 3 to 8 fractions, substantially smaller amounts of the fractions being supplied towards the downstream side. The reaction is carried out at =30 degrees C with stirring, and keeping the av. residence time of the reacting soln in the reaction system within 6 hrs. The prods are useful intermediates for agricultural chemicals, lubricants and stabilisers.</p> |
