Disclosed is a weight-measuring element WM, comprising an optical fiber sensor that has a hetero-core sensor (SP), a first substrate (1) on which the sensor (SP) of the optical fiber sensor and the adjacent parts of the sensor (SP) are placed, a second substrate (3) arranged above the optical fiber sensor so that the sensor (SP) is positioned within the area of an opening (3a), a pressing member (4) with a high degree of hardness that is contained within the opening (3a), and a load-leveling substrate (5) provided on top of the second substrate (3). A bend occurs in the proximity of sensor (SP) when pressed by the downward-protruding bottom part of the pressing component (4), causing a transmission loss of sensor light corresponding to the bend. This enables high-precision measurement of light and heavy loads without using an electrical signal.
