<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved diagnosis marker for the detection and treatment of malignant condition (e.g. carcinoma) and a target for treatment. <P>SOLUTION: Provided are a nucleic acid sequence encoding HE4a polypeptide of soluble and cell surface forms overexpressed e.g. in ovarian carcinoma; a method for detecting the reactivity of an antibody specific for HE4a polypeptide with a molecule naturally occurring in soluble and/or cell surface form in a sample from such a subject; and a method for screening for the presence of a malignant condition in a subject by hybridization screening using an HE4a nucleotide sequence. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
