<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which is simply designed and facilitates the accurate measurement of a pulse rate. <P>SOLUTION: The device is a wristwatch 100 which comprises a strap member 5, a load detecting element 32, and a CPU and pulse rate calculating program, wherein the strap member 5 is used to fit a wrist R with a case body 1; the load detecting element 32 detects a variation in load imposed on the device body which is transmitted through the strap member to correspond to a variation in tension generated by the pulsation of arteries around the wrist; and the CPU and pulse rate calculating program bases on the variation in load detected by the load detecting element to calculate the pulse rate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
