<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high frequency temperature variable attenuator, of which the circuit scale does not become large, and which is configured with passive elements only, without using semiconductor elements, and can attain cost reduction. <P>SOLUTION: Three resistors 8, each of which is composed of a thermistor 6 and a resistance 7, are connected in parallel between a grounding conductor 4 or a point which can be considered as grounding and a distribution constant principal line path 3 disposed between input-output terminals 1 and 2, with a spacing (3a) of odd times substantially 1/4 wavelength of an operating frequency at the principal line path 3. Thereby, a parallel type attenuator is configured, According to the attenuator, the resistance value (Ra and Rb) of the resistor 8 will raise, if temperature goes up.
