PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a size of a device. SOLUTION: The optical device includes P (P is a natural number) first circulators, a first waveguide type diffracting grating having P first input/output waveguides formed on one end and N (N is a natural number) second input/output waveguides formed on other end, Q (Q is a natural number) second circulators, and a second waveguide type diffracting grating having Q third input waveguides formed on one end and N fourth input/output waveguides formed on other end. N transmission/reflection switches for switching transmission and reflection of light propagated through the respective waveguides are interposed between the second input/output waveguide of the first waveguide type diffracting grating and the fourth input/output waveguide of the second waveguide type diffracting grating. The first circulator, the first waveguide type diffracting grating, the transmission/reflection switch, the second waveguide type diffracting grating, and the second circulator are arranged longitudinally.
