PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously perform a power conversion operation even if a fault occurs in a part of a circuit element in a DC/DC power conversion apparatus where smoothing capacitors are arranged in parallel in a plurality of circuits and charging/discharging of the capacitors between the circuits are used. SOLUTION: A circuit A1 where three cell circuits formed of two series MOSFET are connected in parallel and are connected between both terminals of the smoothing capacitor Cs1 and three circuits A2 to A4 where two series MOSFET is connected to both terminals of the smoothing capacitors Cs2 to Cs4 are connected in series. LC serial objects LC12 to LC14 are disposed between the cell circuits and the circuits A2 to A4 at equal resonance periods, and three column circuits X, Y and Z are constituted. Fault detecting circuits 132 to 134 and 131X to 131Z detect faults for the respective column circuits X, Y and Z. The column circuit which breaks down is stopped. Short circuits 152 to 154 short-circuit a part between positive and negative terminals of the smoothing capacitors Cs2 to Cs4 in the circuits (A2 to A4) in the column circuit which breaks down.
